The Finale
Unfortunately, this week we decided to end NPSN. We have been working on this project all this semester but we decided to move onto another project. But first, we had to conclude NPSN so we made a special finale episode. We used a variety of clips of our past episodes as a way to look back upon our past. We edited it all into a purposefully sad montage that showed the best highlights and clips from our previous episodes. We then concluded our episode with the sad music from UP to fully wrap up NPSN. Last Episode: https://twitter.com/npsportsnetwork/status/1219645085551382528 What's Next We are now going to begin on a different project called Riley Lunch Bunch. We plan to send out a Google Form and have senior student make responses to help us figure out what restaurants we should prioritize and what we should get for each day. We will then have certain meals for certain lunches on even days and will have food for each person. We will also need to advertise and be sure to have people sign up for these lunches. So we are trying to get seniors to respond and figure out who would be willing to pay for each of these restaurants food.

Reflecting on the Semester
Going into this project we really didn't know what to expect. We were the first students to begin a project like this, our only basis was a similar news announcement show for our school. Looking at how different our episodes were back then is kind of crazy to think about. We have progressively improved both our production speed and value. Due to Brody's increased knowledge of Premiere Pro we have better edited final project and a new style of production that implements a variety of intros and transitions along with cuts which speed up the production. We have stop fully scripting episode to provide these upcoming episodes with a more relaxed and natural style of speaking. We've also provided even more changes to allow for better episodes and I'm really happy with how far we've come. Finding Topics to Talk About After the winter sports season was just starting up, we were running low on stuff to do and speak about. So we had to add in some odd ideas that would help us have more entertaining content to allow for people to stay interested in our videos. So we made some special videos for things such as our footballs state championship victory, where we went out and bought confetti cannons and shot them off during our episode. We had to implement many different jokes and little things that allow for our videos to be able to keep people entertained. Our Twitter - https://twitter.com/npsportsnetwork/media First Episode After Last Blog Post Recently we have produced three videos. The first one of the three that we made we had to use another comedic intro from Friends because of the lack of sporting events. We shot one really long clip of us doing random stuff that we had planned to cut and use as little segments for the intro. We had also brought in an umbrella to get that full Friends effect. We then continued filming our episode talking about the football team along with showing support for our other students. Second Episode After Last Blog Post The next episode we filmed we opted for using more highlights rather than continuing along with unrelated fun intros. Brody and I scripted and filmed segments about an academic team we partake in along with mentioning the Sectional Championship for the football team and the season opener for Girls Basketball. For our academic team we had brought in a couple of teammates to make a joke about how we thought we did not make it to state, but it turns out we did. Most Recent Episode In the most recent video we were able to make an almost normal episode with the extra amount of sporting events occurring. The football team won the Regional Championship, girls basketball had played two games, and we had a surplus of highlights to show. Upcoming Episodes With Winter Sports about to take full control, we will have an increase in the amount of sporting events to review. After our Thanksgiving break the Winter athletic Season should begin. We have also brought up a new approach to filming where we only give a guideline of what to say rather than scripting every part of it. To test and see if we would be capable of filming a slightly more natural feeling episode. Twitter: https://twitter.com/npsportsnetwork Logging and Scripting With most of our sporting events coming to an end, we were left with two sporting events that took place over the previous week. Both were our boys and girls cross country semistate meets. Our girls team expect for one girl and our last boy lost so we needed to find a way to make the video longer and more entertaining so we came up with the idea of doing famous/popular TV show intros. We also thought that it'd be a good idea to interview Brenna Shaw, our final girl moving onto state for cross country. So we planned to make a Full House intro along with a short recap and an interview with Brenna. Filming So we first went down to film our intro. We began with modeling it off of Full House. If you've seen the Full House intro, they are all doing various activities and look up and wave at the camera. So we shot our intro on Monday with each one of us doing something and waving up at the camera in a surprised manner. We then got shots of our librarian, who provides us with our room to film, Mr. Large, our service learning teacher, and a shot of us in a bathroom all peaking our heads out of different stalls at different heights. Then on Tuesday, we began to film the more typical part of the episode. We had added a table to sit at and we had a short recap, cut to our interview, and of course our conclusion. Brody then went through and edited the Full House theme song to go along with our intros and edited the video altogether. This Weeks Episode: https://twitter.com/npsportsnetwork/status/1190277441870352384 Logging and Scripting
This weeks episode was after a two week break so we had a lot to log and fit into our video. We once again went onto https://newpalestineathletics.com/ to find all of our information for the scores of the games. This episode was relatively easier to script because of the fact that we decided to do a "speedrun." Instead of writing up a script and formally announcing the teams and scores we went off of a list that initially said the team and was then followed by every game and whether they won or lost. It was also a special episode because we had four teams have a conclusion to their season so we slowed down the speed run and announced the end of their season and gave them a moment of silence. It was also our homecoming so we had to add in the additional sports of girls and boys power puff and give a special mention to the homecoming court. Filming Brody brought in his blazers and we began filming. We did the "speedrun" in one take with Brody yelling for transitions as the scores of the games pop up on the screen thanks to the updated abilities of Adobe Premiere Pro. We then filmed our moment of silence for our fallen sports. Followed by the standings of homecoming and had Brody make an appearance with his crown because he was our homecoming king. We then filmed the conclusion and Brody edited everything. Initial Thoughts Brody and I wanted to work on a project called Puppy Pals which just didn’t work out logistically. Before then, Maximus, Dawson, Brody, and I had mentioned doing an ESPN like talk show for high school athletics. Mr. Large liked the idea and started to encourage us to work and began our project after telling us that the Puppy Pals would not work. We decided to call it NPSN. Our main goal in this project was to help give recognition to all of our student athletes, but mainly those athletic programs which receive less attention. Pitch Day Presentations We then started to prepare for our Pitch Day presentation. We stated that our main goal was to show highlights from a variety of sports and to bring them more well deserved attention. We listed the necessary equipment which was blazers, a camera, and a place to film alongside highlights. In both the informal and the formal pitch days were very helpful and gave us good suggestions. The formal pitch day was very important because Mr. Young said that he’d provide us with a professional camera where we would not have to worry about audio. We had already prepared to use some microphones that we purchased from Amazon and film the episodes on our Iphones. The camera that Mr. Young gave us was really helpful. Scripting After the pitch day Brody and I made a log of all the upcoming and current sporting events. Throughout the week we updated the logs and continued into making our first script. The majority of our information of the scores and schedules of all the athletic teams came from https://newpalestineathletics.com/. We had gotten in contact with some of the athletic coaches and they had some parents go through the Huddle film and send in some highlights. We also got in contact with some student athletes and used their Huddle to record their sports highlights. The Filming and Editing Process We then had a chance to test out our equipment and play with editing the green screen. We then went into attempting to film our first episode. We began by using https://cueprompter.com/ to allow us to read our script while positioning our computer on a high chair right underneath the camera. We then filmed the episode in segments of an intro, highlights, bloopers, and a conclusion. Brody then went into editing. We used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit in our background by using the Ultra Key and messing with the settings.
